How do I select data for period of time ?

Thank you sir, Range will be fixed, It will always be from Feb of running year to following year's end of January.
Last time i ran into such scenario while i have to do trouble shoot and i did not know how to do it and i was forced to
write an application in C# just to get the data. I am not good at Sql Query. So i want to learn how to do to get range of data from certain period to certain period only only by year but by with month.

Just to clarify, when interacting with computers about dates, always use universally acceptable and globally neutral format, which is yyyy-MM-dd. Computer don't understand American date and British date. Also, date are NOT stored in any format. They are stored as numbers.

 

While showing the date to users, you can format it the way you want it. 

FROM tblYourTableName

WHERE [YourDateField] BETWEEN '2017-02-01' AND '2018-12-31'

 

 

just change the data, tbl name, feild name and check/run the query in SSMS 

Hi Rana,This is FYI.From your query I assume we need to pull the data between two dates if that is the case. query will be look like this.Table Name : Test Columns: Id,Name,DOJ,Salary.

 

Scenario : Need to find the employee details who joined between Dec 2017 March 2018.

 

Query:

 Select * from Test where DOJ between '2017-12-01' And '2018-03-31;This will be the query.

Is that date range is fixed? Or you want it changed depending on when you execute that statement. For example, if you execute that query in October 2018, what date range you want?

 

What is the name of the table? What is the name of the date column in that table? Or is this a interview / assignment question. Please clarify.
