Hadoop is it's own framework like .NET. It has its own requirements. If you want to build Web projects that require lots of data processing and may have lot of traffic, you can use Hadoop to build it. It is pen-source Framework for reliable, scalable, distributed computing.
Perfect example will be C# Corner CMS. We can build it using Hadoop because we have so much data processing and millions of users per month. Hadoop also has built in feature to take care using software when one machine fails and so on.
