How to add "WELCOME" text before username in sharepoint ribbon.

Again same approach, If you inspect the name container you will find the button tag, that is the place where we need to inject the css

Here is the CSS
#O365_MeFlexPane_ButtonID {
    width: auto;
}

    #O365_MeFlexPane_ButtonID .o365cs-mfp-header-displayname {
        width: 100%;
        max-width: none;
    }

    #O365_MeFlexPane_ButtonID .o365cs-topnavText:before {
        content: "Welcome ";
    }

Hi Jagdeesh,

You may also consider CSS approach. You didn't mention which Sharepoint version.
Below is the css for SP 2013 , if you inspect the element you will find the ID of the Div wrap
and apply after/before and content properties.

You shall follow same approach whichever SP version you are on.
#welcomeMenuBox span::before {
    content: "Welcome ";
}
This will add welcome text before user name as shown below.

1. the easiest. using SHP Designer , connect to your site, open the master page and. just before your login control, insert your text

2. Using VisualStudio create your own Control
