how to add string to auto generated id in asp.net????

In my Database I hve a col name as RequirementID like 1,2...but while retrieving the data from database into gridview I want to concatenate with string and Datetime and RequirementID number

for ex:I hve column data 1,2,3....etc but I want to add like "QQ2014100001" can any one help me plz???

Where is your date coming from? Is it a column in your table? Are you using SQL Server?

SELECT 'QQ' + cast(YEAR(GETDATE()) as varchar) + cast(MONTH(GETDATE()) as varchar) + REPLICATE('0', 4 - LEN(Id)) + cast(Id as varchar) From Tickets

Replace GETDATE() with your date column.

If it is not an identity, you could write a trigger that checks if the date has changed and reset the value. I am not sure that you could solve this with just an identity column.

In my database RequrementID type is Int

I wnt Id Like QQ2014100001 ..If I wil add one mre record in the next mnth thn it wil shw like QQ2014110002.It wil shw bt the prblm is befre added record id also modifying like QQ2014110001 whn I wz executed tht query,but I wnt QQ2014100001 and QQ2014110002...shldnt change the bfre added record date.
cn any one help me plllzzz???

i see now that you might need the same padding for month number, but that's easily copied.
