How to build a SOAP API

Hello,

I need to build a web service that gets SOAP request and returns a SOAP response. I searched everywhere and tried everything but still didn't find a way to do this. Can you please help me. I tried a WSDL webservice and WCF but nothing works as I want.

Due to several intermediate wrappers, it is lot more complicated than you think.

May be you should look into something as described in the following:

Actually, I built a service that's supposed to receive a a SOAP and returns the same SOAP
Here is the method a developed:
[WebMethod]

public string Receivesoap(XmlElement message)

return message;
}
However, when I test this service using SOAP UI, I got an error saying :
soap:MustUnderstand
SOAP header Security was not understood.
Here is the SOAP I got as request in my service (the service has to be able to read this request as it is)

If you could elaborate a bit, please. What is it that you are getting now? What is the diff between what you expect and you are getting.

What I am not understanding is, is your question about "how" to get row xml?

There is something that I believe it can be the fix of all this. when I tried to add my service to SOAPUI as SOAP project I couldn't, I was getting the same error saying: Unexpected end of file.
I add my service into SOAPUI as myservice.svc/soap (I configured this endpoint as you can see in configuration below)
When I add the service as Rest project, everything works well. I add my service as myservice.svc/mypostmethod

It is possible to write your very own code in C# any other language to make native SOAP calls. What if that tool has any error?

There must be a benchmark. If you can demonstrate that whatever code you have developed works well in SoapUI or Postman, there are only two ways to go about it.

Tell them to reproduce the same error using any of the publicly available tools to call the Soap method.

Or give me (i.e. you!) the server side code of a sample method which your tools can call without errors.

Because things like WebServices are based on protocol (and i am not using this term here in computer sense) which means both client and server must agree upon few basic things and then only the can communicate with each other.

It is their internal tool, a bit confidential. but it is like POSTMAN tool

For now, I built a WCF service that accepts a SOAP request as the the sample below and returns the same SOAP as response. the content type of request and response have to be "text/xml; charset=utf-8". everything is working well when I test this service with tools as POSTMAN, but when I test this with a tool that my client uses, I got the following error: Unexpected end of file from server

I think all you have to do is Open Visual Studio select new Project. Then select under Templates -> Visual C# -> Windows -> WCF Service Application. Just press F5 without writing a single line of code and your first web service is ready.

Please inform what you tried and what is not as expected.
