Below are few options

Razor syntax:
@Html.ActionLink("Add", "Add", new { id = item.ID });
Using Button:
"button" title="Add" value="D" onclick="location.href='@Url.Action("Add", "Employee", new { id = item.ID })'" />
Using Image:
"@Url.Action("Add", "Employee", new { id = item.ID })" title="Add">
"../../Content/Images/AddEmp.png" />

Hello

For that you can use jquery as well

You need to use Jquery script file or online CDN to work with jquery

And in MVC you can bind click event of jquery as below :
// Button code like

"button" id="button1" text="CLICK ME"/>

// Jquery code , put this code in head part of cshtml code

"text/javascript">

    // creating click event

    $("#button1").click(function()
    {
        alert("Click Event Using Jquery");

        // do other stuff as per your requirement
    }
    );

    // Also can create click event like this

    $("#button1").on("click" , function()
    {
        alert("Click Event Using Jquery");

        // do other stuff as per your requirement
    }
    );
For above code , you need to provide ID of an button , that's it

PLease share your code, where you want to implement Click event?
@Html.TextAreaFor(m => m.Value, new
                                {
                                    onclick = "alert('Razor Engine')"
                                });
This the sample click event for text box.
