How to clear asp datalist images and label?

I tried with below but its not working..

$("#dlCustomers") .empty();

no..actually I bind datalist on pageload "$(function () {"
its working properly but when I filter data and appending it again then those filtered items adding every time into data list.. so first I want to clear images and text of datalist items..

I believe that you are trying to remove all options from customer dropdown. If so try below code:

$('#dlCustomers option').remove();
