how to code a back button on web forms ?

i have an application in which there is no back button function which will take you to previous page if we click browser back button it says web page has expired

i made 2 webform which redirects from 1 to another i want back buuto function to those two pages only

can we code back button as such ?

hey amit thanks for the response

1st i tried its saying webpage has expired

2nd i tried the page is loading and again coming to same page instead of previous page

3rd one i tried im getting error at Attributes and NavigateUrl saying this System.Web.UI.Page does not contain definition for Attributes and NavigateUrl

base.NavigateUrl = Page.Request.UrlReferrer.AbsoluteUri;

It will work fine.

its webform application i statless you can't maintained the last reord due to browser act ervery state as new request.
but there is on thing viewstate, session you can save it on these variables and get it on every stage.

hey mohsin like i said i have only two form the redirect method klike you is perfect but whn i want to redirect from B to A i want the previous records to be maintained it shoulnt get lost

there are two ways to do this. if you want to redirect your page on defult or home page when you are any page of your application you can do it by doing this.

Response.Redirect("URL");
just code it on back of any button.
and as you say you have only two forms lets suppose form A and form B
so palce the button
on Form A and onclick redirect form B
and Form B place the button and redirct on click to Form A
but it is recommended that you make a master page and where you place one button, or on logo you can code. which is given above
