How to Convert a string to datetime with culture info in c#?

Hi All,

I have converted a date from the string it working fine in my local system, after I hosted the application to server. I got invalid date format error.

suggest me how to convert a date from string with current culture of a system.

Hai Singaravel,

Can you use the following method. it will solve your issue. In that method you should pass the date string and date format of that string as parameters.

public DateTime stringToDateConversion(string date, string format)
{
/* Convert Date to Currrnt Culture */
DateTimeFormatInfo dateTimeFormatterProvider = DateTimeFormatInfo.CurrentInfo.Clone() as DateTimeFormatInfo;
dateTimeFormatterProvider.ShortDatePattern = format; //source date format
DateTime NewDate = DateTime.Parse(date, dateTimeFormatterProvider);
return NewDate;
}

So far as possible, try to implement such methods as extension methods. If we do that, in development team, while explaining about the method, developer just have to type . after the variable and IntelliSense takes care of the rest.
