One way to achieve is to create a New Event Handler that will be attached to the Doc Lib. When you create a Folder (Top Level Customer) you need to create the respective sub folders. You also make sure that the Event Handler doesn't get trapped in the Recursion while creating the sub folders Other way you can use CSOM : List list = clientContext.Web.Lists.GetByTitle( "My List" ); var folder = list.RootFolder; clientContext.Load(folder); // This will create the Root Folder in the library folder = folder.Folders.Add( "Parent-Folder" ); //This will create the sub-folder inside the folder created from above code var nestedFolder = folder.Folders.Add( "Child1-Folder" ); clientContext.ExecuteQuery(); Hope this helps!

Can you please explain in detail about your requirement?' As per my understanding, do you want to create a folder in SharePoint folder and share that folder with your customer? If this is the case, then yes, you can do that. SharePoint have folder level permission, so you can break the inheritence on the document library or particular main folder and then you can assign permission to your customer on the folder. But this might need your customer's account in your SharePoint or it may work with external sharing. I haven't tried external sharing at folder level.
