How to get active users count in master page

In Global.asax

Step1: Declare an application variable

void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)

{

// Code that runs on application startup

Application["OnlineVisitors"] = 0;

}

Step2: Increase application variable by 1 when a user logging in.

void Session_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)

{

// Code that runs when a new session is started

Application.Lock();

Application["OnlineVisitors"] = (int)Application["OnlineVisitors"] + 1;

Application.UnLock();

}

Step3: Decrease application variable by 1 when a user logging out.

void Session_End(object sender, EventArgs e)

{

// Code that runs when a new session is started

Application.Lock();

Application["OnlineVisitors"] = (int)Application["OnlineVisitors"] - 1;

Application.UnLock();

}

Step4: Use application variable to see in your page

string noOfVisitors = Application["OnlineVisitors"].ToString();

Note: you can use it in your master page as per your need.
