How to get data from Dynamically in Layout page in Mvc

7y ago

Accepted answer

You don't bind data from controller to layout directly

Controller bind to View directly and View render inside Layout page so if you pass something from controller to Layout dynamicallly for different view ,you can user ViewBag or ViewData

1) Store data inside ViewBag or ViewData on Controller Action Method (ViewBag.Exmple = "Test")

2) Access that ViewBag or ViewData in Layout page (@ViewBag.Exmple)

Create one class file

public class emp

{

public string name{get;set;}

public string place{get;set;}

}

Controller Code

public ActionResult Index()

{

// creating object for emp class

emp empobject=new emp();

emp.name="madan";

emp.place="soran";

//returning emp class object

return View(emp);

}

// now your view strongly expect emp return type only so

Index.cshtml

@model.namspace.emp;

@model.name

@model.place
