for the nice implementation, try to cast the string to DateTime and then using Totalhours property, you should be good.

There is no pre defined function to get your output directly, you have to create your own

Subtract your start time from 12:00 am and then subtract 12:00 am from 8:00 am.

you will get your total hours.
