how to get values from databa into my lables

hi friends
iam having a dropdownlist when iam selecting employee name from that dropdownlist

i want to display that perticuler employee details will display in to my lables.

please help me iam new to this topic..

DropDownList1.Items.Add(reader["empname"].ToString()); IAM GETTING ERROR IN PLACE OF ["empname"] like indexoutofrange exception was unhandled by user code wt whould i write there

friend how is it possible to write dropdownlist selected index code why should we write. i want write code in search button only. like first i want 2 select employee name from dropdown list next i will click search button. after click the search button i want to display that perticuler employee details will diplay in to my labels. i want this code.
