Hello Well for this task of returning xml and other format we should specify its formatter Primarily there are two ways XML and JSON that i had worked with For doing this you need to add single line in Application_Start() method inside global file : 1 - For XML : GlobalConfiguration.Configuration.Formatters.XmlFormatter.UseDataContractSerializer = true ; OR config.Formatters.XmlFormatter.MediaTypeMappings.Add( new QueryStringMapping( "type" , "xml" , new MediaTypeHeaderValue( "application/xml" ))); 2 .
