How to hide grid view in asp.net using c#

You should consider the built-in functionality in the gridview itself like below:

 

 

Which displays, "No Record Found" text, if no record is available.

 

As an alternative, you can put the gridview inside a div and hide it initially. When you hit the button, you can show the grid .
