How to make visible true/false for label or textbox which is in datagrid footer, on click of ADD button which is outside grid.

Hi,
    I am having a condition that when there are no records in datagrid if user clicks ADD button, the footer should appear with a label as visible and textBox as invisible. If there r more records in grid, then after ADD button clicked, the textBox will be visible instead of label.
    Any one can help me please.....
