How to prevent the gridview from postbacking

Hi all,
Can some one tell me how to prevent the gridview from postbacking the second time when
the entire page is refreshed?
I'm using c# .net 2005. My page contains a gridview with paging enabled. My gridview contains video files as data on which a hyperlink is there .If we click on video image video starts playing in window on the same page like U-tube...
When i click the second page and then click a link in the second page the details are showing on the page but the gridview is postbacked to its first page...which i dont want i want it to be on 2nd page only. Please tell me how to prevent it from happening...
