how to print and scan barcode in asp.net web application

Can anyone help me out how will I print and scan barcode from my web application developed in VS2008,c#,asp.net3.5.I have to create a string like"12345" for barcode and barcode printer will print that string with image.How would I connect my web application with barcode printer and scanner.

I've checked one of the barcode scanner integration in .net, but it is not totally free to use, just for testing. Free solution would be appreciated a lot.

I read following answers and all of them are recommending ASP.NET barcode generator. Are you asking for barcode creator or the way how to connect barcode generator and printer?

i only know barcode generator tool in asp.net,as for scanner,i do not know much about that.

I used this barcode tool to create barcode in asp.net before. As for barcode reading, I used this .net barcode reader to read the created barcodes. It is easy to Install, simple to integrate into your ASP.NET web applications, coded in Visual C#.NET 2.0 completely.

what barcode type are you trying to generate barcode image in asp.net web application?

And you can actually google like "integrate barcode printer and reader with web application"

ID Automation is a good barcode generator. You may use their Bar Code Font to generate barcode. visit their site
