how to read smart card from smart card reader in .net.

I am working for a exchange company in bahrain so we have the requirement to read the customer national identity card from smart card reader in WINFORMS or WPF or in ASP.NET

please help in this task and give me a simple example.

For reading Smartcard or USB Token from ASP.NET application, for digitally signing, authentication or encryption, here is the working sample C# project along with complete source code download: (works in VS 2015 or VS 2017)

PS: Requires drivers of Smartcard to be installed, which makes the Signatures in Smartcard or USB Token available in Windows Certificate Store (with handle to private key in Smartcard.)

Do you have access to this national ID card specification on APDU level? Some of the printed data you are after may be available even without any cryptographic keys or PIN.
Printed data is often stored in "read always" memory. You can use a third-party C# .NET library for such as smartcardAPI ( http://smartcard-api.com ) to get started. It will allow you to access unmanaged winscard.dll without having to go deep into this native Windows API.
OMNIKEY 3021 mentioned by Sandeep Kumar is a good choice. It is a PC/SC compliant smart card reader that should work finr with this type of smart card.

open notepad...and insert the card into reader..and see whats comes up on notepad.
if it is simple text then catch into ur windows apps..if encrypted..then find the way to decrypt it..

If you mean you want to read text from your national identity card, you could capture its image, for example using a scanner or a good quality camera, then use OCR to recognize English or Arabic characters in the image.
You can try using LEADTOOLS Professional OCR engine to recognize these characters.

Note: I am using Omni key 3021 as smart card reader
