Accepted answer
You can use FormCollection or ViewModel to get data from DropDownListFor().
@Html.DropDownListFor(m=>m.SelectedVender , Model.Vendor, "Select Manufacurer")

public class MobileViewModel
{
    public List MobileList;
    public SelectList Vendor { get; set; }
    public string SelectedVender {get;set;}
}
[HttpPost]
public ActionResult ShowData(MobileModel MV)
{
   string SelectedValue = MV.SelectedVendor;
   return View(MV);
}

OR

[HttpPost]
public ActionResult ShowData(FormCollection form)
{
  string strDDLValue = form["ddlVendor"].ToString();
  return View("Index");
}
