How to send values from Drop Down List to DB in MVC

To save the data from Drop Down List TO db .... please follow the steps

1.ViewBag.Gender =db.Genders;

[email protected](m => m.Gender, new SelectList(ViewBag.Gender, "gen", "gen"),"Select Gender")

3.function savedata() {

var gender = $('#Gender').val();

$.ajax({

url: '/Main/Profile',

}

The Action in Main Controller
