how to show cancel button on some value in gridview

my database is like this

if status = "pending" then a cancel button will activate on a gridview where a employee can chancel too in gridview

You should consider to use Gridview's Row databound event like below:
protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
//Checking the RowType of the Row
if(e.Row.RowType==DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{

Button cancelButton=e.Row.FindControl("youcancelbuttonid");
//Check the cell value, change the index according to your choice
if(Convert.ToString(e.Row.Cells[5].Text)== "pending")
{
cancelButton.Enabled = true;
}
else
{
//For the rest of the conditions enable it
cancelButton.Enabled = false;
}
}
