How to show hindi text on page which is retrived from the SQL server

Question

Hi ,
I have one problem that I am tiring to show some hindi text from the MSsql server database on a web page. I have a gridview and inside it their is template label where I am showing it. I enter text from anothe web page.

But When I show it back it appeares like below.

?? ?
???? ?? ???? ??? ???? ???? ?? ???
? ???? ???? ?? ????? ???? ???

I am using stored procedure approch to store and retrive the text.

Hi, This issue was because of data type only. Now I am able to see Hindi text. Actually in stored procedure I changes the the data type to text to nvarchar and saved it also but I don't understand how it was no saved I was assuming that I have saved it. I once again checked it and it was text so changing it to nvarchar fixed the issue. Thanks...... guys

Hi, I have nvarchar(MAX) as the data type for the text in the MS SQL database. I don't clearly understand the use of N' prefix I am bit new to this. But the thing is I able to show hindi text on some other webpage without N' prefix, their also data type is nvarchar(MAX). The difference here is from a web page I am saving hindi text in the database and then I am showing it on some other page. I think this is having the relation with the problem.

Check DataType of your Data It Must be Nvarchar for Storing language Data i think you have used varchar so this is happening and While Comparing language data in Database use N' PreFix

well thts quite strange. Gridview shud not be the problem. Check sql server as of how the data are saved in there

It is actually very strange. I am able to show hindi text on one page on some lable, but the difference with this new page is I am showing it in grid view template lable.
