How to show message in ASP.NET using JavaScript

It cannot be done in an ASP .Net page; it must be done by something such as JavaScript that executes client-side. You can call a JavaScript function from an ASP .Net page in the way that Satyapriya shows but that means that when the user clicks the button, the request comes from the client computer and goes to the server which then causes the JavaScript function to execute in the client. That is a lot of data transmission compared to doing it all in HTML. Using ASP .Net in that manner can be very reasonable if there is something that needs to be done in the server but for simple things like this it is better to do it in HTML.
