How to sort a string in alphabetical order from a textbox.

I want to sort the given text from the left textbox as Abby, Mark , James and John on the right textbox. How will i achieve it?

Hi,

You need to do below steps :-

(1) Split your first textbox value and store into list of string.

(2) Do ascending sorting on your list of string.

(3) Join your list of string and assign value to your second textbox.

Here is a simple code :-

string firstTextBoxVal = textBox1.Text;

string[] stringSeparators = new string[] { "\r\n" };

List stringList = firstTextBoxVal.Split(stringSeparators, StringSplitOptions.None).ToList();

stringList.Sort();

textBox2.Text = string.Join("\r\n", stringList);

First read all name line by line and store in array and sort it using sort method and assign to second textbox.

How you fill this box? I mean are you using List<> or Array[] ?

You can use Array.Sort(...) Function. When all done then put that array onto another textbox
