how to split date n tim from datetime in sql table using C#

i want to spilt datetime into date and time in their separate column at the time of insert record.

so need guide for this thanks...

Hi Akhter,

While saving you are passing parameter that place you have to pass in date
convert(date, Entrydate)
and Time paremeter.
convert(varchar(8), convert(time, Entrydate)

no i am not defining parameter at the time of saving of Time and Date ,just pasing parameter of Entrydate which data type is datetime

i am using this query
SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(7), Entrydate, 108) AS Time, CONVERT(VARCHAR(7), Entrydate, 105) AS Date
FROM Country

but how will i save data in database using c# of date and time

Hi Akhter,
Hi, In database you can follow as like below :
1)If your coulumn types are date & another column time follow like below
Here my variables @dtIs is Date type. And my @tmIs is time type.
declare @dtIs date;
set @dtIs = convert(date, getdate())
declare @tmIs time;
set @tmIs = convert(time, getdate()))
2)If your columns are in varchar type, Then again convert the @dtIs & @tmIs to varchar type as like below :
select convert(varchar(max),@dtIs)
select convert(varchar(max),@tmIs)

Hi Akhter,

Please find below query for split data and time into Two Coulmn.
select convert(date, getdate()) as [Date], convert(varchar(8), convert(time, getdate())) as [Time]

Hi Akhter,
For your scenario, we can use "Date" type for one column & "Time" type for another column.
Dont use "DateTime".
And to the respective columns from our front end get the date and split as like below :
DateTime dt = new DateTime.Now;
string time = dt.ToString("hh:mm tt");
string date = dt.ToString("yyyy-MM-dd");
Now you can pass time & date to your database.
