You want to automate testing of ui functionalities implemented in your mvc aaplication?

 

As its name says Automation of testing is to do testing of application by automated way instead of doing it manually.

 

Like if you want to test login page for positive use case.

Manually you would open the browser, browse the login page, enter username and password and click "Login" button. After clicking "Login" button if it displays message "Login Success" you consider the test case pass else it is failed.

 

How would you perform all above steps just by without touching keyboard and mouse? That's when Automation comes in picture. You write automation script which will open the browser, navigate to your login page, enter username and password, click on Login button, wait for the response to come back and check if "Login Success" message is displayed or not.

 

And you save this script so that when ever you want to test this use case you just need to run this script instead of doing all the steps manually again and again.
