simplest way add html tag in data base field string value or otherwise in row data bound events access the cell value and modify the value by adding html and then bind that to gridview.

I don't think it is possible in asp.net try some java script code and read the key and bind the tag.

Just hold shift key and continually press underscore (beside + key) otherwise you can store iamge of like of html tag and decrease the size of the line.
