How we check availability of Username using Ajax

Can anyone tell me how i check availability of username using Ajax , and also suggestions , i use entity frame work

I talk when user want to sign up and write username , i want when he write username and click on button for checking availability of username program tells yes username is available or not using ajax,json etc

I have a name field

and a button

Now i want when i click on button check availability , program check all names and tell name is already exist or not , through ajax , i used entity framework.
What can i do ?
