HTML5 or ASP.NET MVC?

I am trying to see the best route to take to develop web client. I am not for sure to use either ASP.NET or straight HTML5.

I am build an web base client. I want to use the latest and greatest technologies out there. Which do develop application in?

Yes sir I know that. My question is should i use straight html5 and no asp.net mvc or use asp.net mvc 5 that will include html 5 ysing razor syntax

HTML5 is what gets rendered on the browser. ASP.NET is a framework for building web applications. The framework takes care of authentication, session management, output caching, in addition to a design framework for the presentation layer.
