What is the use of the websites (or) Projects by using Java technology and What is the reason?

What is the use of the websites (or) Projects by using Dot Net technology and What is the reason ?

What is the use of the websites (or) Projects by using Php technology and What is the reason?

What is the use of the websites (or) Projects by using Other technologies and What is the reason?

And also,Why and How do we say that,the project is to be done in only Java ,Dot Net and other.
