i wana store data 2 step in asp.net in 1 table like shadi.cm

1. when clicking submit, add the basic information to the database
2. let the insert query return @@scope_identy (SQL server) or lastinsertid (MySql)
   
3. pass the returned value to next page (for step 2)
4. when user clicks submit, update existing record based on the returned value

For 3 you can e.g. use a session variable or the querystring.
