Then I think it's not even needed to have session too.

Directly pass the object(data from the table) into your actionmethod by the ajax call.

There you can store the data into session. As the updated data only exists in the session.

As per my understand, I think you are working on bulk data, Where the data stores in session instead of saving in database of that particular record.
