i want to calculate timespan between two columns

i want to substract time(i.e. in_time and out_time) present in two columns of database table which is to be displayed in table format in the web page.....please suggest some sql query and c# code

Hi,

If you want a C# code to get this done, here it an example for the same.

DateTime startTime = Convert.ToDateTime("6:00 AM");

DateTime endtime = Convert.ToDateTime("4:00 PM");

TimeSpan duration = startTime - endtime;

Hi,
you want time difference between in and out time!!so you could use TimeDIFF function in sql server
like this
SELECT TIMEDIFF(Time(in_time), Time(out_time)) from tbl_name
or if you difference in date use DATEDIFF function
