i want to start programming, but am confused with the technology. please i need advice about type of programming language .which is better for beginners C# or Java

don't think much start with C#

It depends on your interest and your familiarity with that language. Also understand that both are versatile as well as provide equal opportunities in the market. C# from Microsoft and Java from Oracle. If you came from C/C++ background means then you can find both as easy one.
