I want to understand the handle of application

Hi I'll try to explain... "Pointers" points to a memory location (generally). "Handles" are "pointers" that points to a memory location which is "handled" by the os. Examples are handles to files, ports (serial, parallell), windows, etc. All of these pointers points to a memory location which is not in the memory of the application. Maybe this information will help you a little bit. Simon
