Hello iam wont to open a new form but its say error "embedded statement cannot be a declaration or labeled statement".

The code is:

`Form2 f2 = new Form2();

f2.Show;

this.Close; `

It's basic programming as "{" and "}" are open and close curlybraces, which is defining the scope of a logical statement. In C# you can have an "if" logical statement without any curlybraces too in case there's only one line to execute after it. i.e. In below, both way of writing code is equivalent as only one line to execute.

With curlybraces
if(1==1)
{
Console.ReadLine();
}

Without curlybraces
if(1==1)
Console.ReadLine();

If you have multiple lines after "if" logical condition, you must open and close curlybraces around it.

MessageBox.Show("XXXX ");

1st of all your code pasted here won't even compile e.g. f2.Show;this.Close etc.. without correct method syntax, and so you need to share your project or full class files to identify many aspects including call stack, calling sources/targets, calling method etc...

Are you using C# ?

Try this, if you still get an error show the exact line.
