There are four mode of Session:
InProc
StateServer
SqlServer
Custom
InCase of InProc your session stores in web server so performance will be decrease when lacks of session
StateServer in this windows service will store session but all session need serlization and deselization so this process will take time and application gives output slowly.
When you use Sql Server same thing here need serilzation and deserilaztion of an object and will store in database so database size will increase and application run slowly and sometime you will get timeout error.
