IIS applicationpoolIdentity vs IUser

When we selecet ananymous authentication ,IIS uses IUser_computer name i have read this somewhere but it actually uses ApplicationPoolIdentity and not IUSER .

I am very new to IIS concept,being a developer doesn't mean i will know IIS that well.So any help , in simple language without pointing to any article will be appreciated.
