image manipulation

i have client-server application to transfer the images but the problem is i can send the image with the help of memorystream but when i try ti retrieve it on the other end i utilise Image.FromStream() method but i get an Exception named"Parameter not valid"
I have tried to save the image recieved to a file,i can do it but the image recieved can't be assigned to picturebox control in my application.
