Is it good to switch from manual testing to dotnet

Sure, I would strongly suggest you should move into .NET Development, besides what you do is you can get into Test Automation this field will do two things:

1- Help you sell your Test skills which is your strength as today.

2- Get you into niche area of industry needs

3- It will make you a better candidate for career prospects.

 

Besides, I also want to tell that be proactive about your career planning; let'ts not wait until it comes to a dead end.

Is there any specific reason to move from Testing to Development ?

 

In my perspective Testing has also good career path.You can move into Automation Testing  and today Agile Testing is also good option. Instead of moving into another area i think learn new things and strong the current area.To move into new area feasible if the existing area has no scope or future and it's going to be stopped in upcoming days.
