Truncating a materialized view is not supported but you could drop it, than it's empty. The purpose of a materialized view is to return the data faster as a query or a stored query aka view. You could drop the MV and create it in the container after whatever you define before your tests start.

It takes as long as inserting that data into a table. Which is mostly waiting for the query selecting the data to finish. But you could add a unique index and refresh this MV concurrently.
