How to convert UTC Datetime to CST or else IST to CST using javascript

Kindly help me out on this.

to get local from UTC Date:

toDate = new Date(toDate.toUTCString());
   /* now = Mon Jan 02 2012 10:30:00 GMT-0600 (CST) */

convert local to UTC:
toDate.toUTCString()
   /* now = Mon, 02 Jan 2012 16:30:00 GMT */

No sophisticated date/time formatting routines exist in plain JavaScript.

Better to use external library.

Using moment.js with the moment-timezone add-on makes this task simple.
// construct a moment object with UTC-based input

var m = moment.utc('2015-01-01 00:00:00');



// convert using the TZDB identifier for US Central time

m.tz('America/Chicago');



// format output however you desire

var s = m.format("YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss");

Central Standard Time (CS) is 6 hours behind the UTC universal time. Hence, to get the time in CST, you can adjust the date's UTC time by offset 6, then just read the UTC values.
function getCST(date) {
  const months = ['January','February','March','April','May','June','July',
                'August','September','October','November','December'];
  const d = new Date(+date);

  // CST is UTC -0600 so subtract 6 hours and use UTC values
  d.setUTCHours(d.getUTCHours() - 6);

  return months[d.getUTCMonth()] + ' ' +
         d.getUTCDate() + ', ' +
         d.getUTCFullYear() + ' ' +
         ((d.getUTCHours()%12) || 12) + ':' +
         ('0' + d.getUTCMinutes()).slice(-2) + ' ' +
