Key to Success - Rule 1

In the USA, people that get low pay can get fired when they are late too much. It is not just lower paid people but it is more likely that lower paid people are not tolerated for being late.

For situations in which you are paying someone for a service and you are their customer, do they at least call to say they will be late? They could and should at least do that. I assume that people in India also use cell phones. Cell phones have made it possible for people to be more efficient but only if people use them.

Actually it happens when the particular employee is not well treated by the employer or that employee might be forcibly working over there. Again it depends on the individuals.

A person who loves his job very much, he will be punctual at that time.

I guess most of the people I dealt with, were independent contractors. It seemed like, they have no respect for time or were overbooked. Whatever the reason was, I kept waiting and waiting. I am not used to waiting. When a meeting is schedule at 10:05, I am used to meeting at 10:00 :)

Alright! I take it back, Partially! IT sector is much better than others. In general, people were not on time, that includes manager we were booking hotel with, the guy who designed our promotional items, certificate guy and the list goes on.

Also, this is not related to client meetings or job. It's rule #1 in general daily life.

Your Rule is 100% true and acceptable.

But at the same time I cant accept you completely while considering India, you are partially correct. :)

Mostly Peoples works in Govt sectors are never on time in India

People works in Private Sectors are on time always.

For example you can take our IT industry itself, if there is any call related to the business or any coordination call with onsite team, people will be there on the bridge atleast 5 minutes earlier.

We follow certain etiquette for being on time.

Expecting others replies on this area. Might be others thought will differ. Lets c others response also.
