listview and buttons

Button and listview are in mainactivity but button not in listview. when I clicked on an item in listview the button should be updated like invite1 or invite2,......

set onItemClickListner to the listview like the following

ListView list = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.listview); 
Button topButton = (Button) findById(R.id.Button);
list.setOnItemClickListener(new AdapterView.OnItemClickListener() { 
@Override 
public void onItemClick(AdapterView parent, View view, int position, long id) {
 MyCustomClass listItem = list.getItemAtPosition(position); 
topButton.setText("Invite"+String.valueOf(position));
} 
});

add action listener to the listview, which handles the onclickitem. while an item is clicked, just update the text of the button.
