Looking for a reusable class to clear all objects on a web form.

I'm trying to figure out how to make a reusable class to clear web forms. I done it in vb but not sure if it could be done here. This is in c# syntax. I would like it to take all objects from the form, distinguish what type of object it is and then apply its clear method. Seems easy. The only way I see it being done is to go through the forms collection of items. then use maybe a switch statement for each type used and in the switches apply the clear method for that object. Will this work. Anyone done this already. Thanks

You'd need a postback to do this, in which case, viewstate would be recognized. Why don't you just do a redirect to the same URL, it would clear all the items and avoid useless processing? Now, if all you're trying to do is reset all the form items to how they were when the user entered the page, use the html reset button. Also, nothing of type Control has a Clear() method; the only Clear method is on one of its accessors Control.Controls.Clear() which removes all child controls from the object's ControlCollection. Finally, if you want to find out why items are available in an object, use Reflection. Item.GetType().GetProperties() or Item.GetType().GetMethods()
