loop in window form

what would be the error in the code if window form are runnning in loop

Most likely it will block UI thread. Secondly it may throw StackOverFlow exception. It is related to stack. All your local variables and methods calls related data will be on stack. For every method call one stack frame will be created and local as well as method call related data will be placed inside the stack frame. Following is a infinite loop:
private void callMe()
{
    while(true)
   {

   }
}

Try this:
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            int number;
            bool isValid = int.TryParse(textBox1.Text, out number);

            if (!isValid || number < 0)
            {
                MessageBox.Show("Please enter a valid positive integer in the textbox");
                textBox1.Focus();
                return;
            }

            int sum = 0;
            int i = 0;

            while (i <= number)
            {
                sum += i;
                i++;
            }

            MessageBox.Show("Sum is " + sum);
        }
