Why we used static keyword in public static void main (string[] args ) give explanation?

C# is designed to force use of a class or struct for everything; everything must be in a class or struct. Yet Windows executes programs written in many languages and does not know how to create a class, so we must make the Main function static so Windows does not need to create an instance of a class.

This question is asked and answered frequently in these forums; you can find previous answers such as What is meaning of main(String[] args). Also all beginner books about C# and many tutorials about C# will answer this question.

If Main() were an instance method, then you'd need to create an instance of its containing class before you could call it.

As the Main() method must be the first method that is called when a program begins execution, it therefore has to be static.
