Materialized View in SQL

I'm not sure what you mean by 'identifying' a Materialized View (or Snapshot) but to create one you specify the MATERIALIZED keyword.

For example (from the Oracle docs):

CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW LOG ON SALES WITH ROWID (prod_id, time_id, quantity_sold, amount_sold) INCLUDING NEW VALUES;
